Support Our League – Be A Volunteer!

SVGSL is a volunteer organization. Please volunteer your time to assist our league in providing another great year of softball experience to the players. There is a wide range of positions available. Coaches - Assistant Coaches and Umpires are always needed. We provide the training to get you started!

Open Board Positions

As a board member you are in a position to make an impact on the success of the league and none of the Board positions require specific softball knowledge. We have a few more essential board positions filled:

Sponsor Director (obtain sponsors for teams, coordinate sponsors at events, distribute sponsor plaques)

Game Scheduler (User scheduling software package to schedule season games including interleague schedule)

6U/8U Division Director (Board liaison for their division) Sorry too late position filled

10U Division Director (Board liaison for their division)

12U/14U/16U Division Director (Board liaison for their division)

Purchasing Director (Negotiate pricing and place orders for equipment and uniforms)

Tournament Director (Organize and manage end of the year tournament)

Training Director (Set up training for coaches)

Communications/Database Director (Manage league database, mailing lists, send out league communications)

Umpire Scheduler (Schedule umpires for games)

Volunteer Director (Collect and maintain volunteer list, call volunteers when needed (equipment, field work, etc.))

Our board meeting are held the second Monday of every month at Ortega Park Recreation Building. They start at 7:00pm and run for no more than 2 hours. Everyone is welcome to attend any of the board meetings - please stop by anytime!
